A Road Scrambler with Sixties Soul

🏍️ Win This 2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650

Golden Shadow Finish • Parallel-Twin Character • Modern Scrambler Capability

Inspired by California desert racing and built for modern roads, this distinctive middleweight combines upright comfort, accessible performance and genuine retro attitude.

648cc Parallel Twin

56.5Nm Peak Torque

Built Around Royal Enfield’s Proven Twin

The 648cc air-and-oil-cooled engine is tuned for generous low-to-midrange response, giving this scrambler the easy-going flexibility to feel at home in town, on a sweeping road or across rougher back lanes.

A six-speed gearbox, wide handlebars and open riding triangle create a relaxed but purposeful feel. The compact two-into-one exhaust centralises mass and reduces bulk compared with a twin-silencer arrangement.

🏜️ Born from Big Bear Run History

1960 Californian Desert Inspiration

Its story looks back to the 1960 Big Bear Run, where 16-year-old Eddie Mulder took victory aboard a Royal Enfield against hundreds of riders in the Californian desert.

That racing spirit comes through in the simple bench seat, purposeful number-board styling and chunky stance—classic cues reworked into a practical road machine.

🧭 Scrambler Hardware with Modern Control

This is more than a styling exercise. Revised suspension, useful ground clearance and mixed-surface tyres give it the equipment to handle broken tarmac and light trails while remaining composed during everyday road riding.

⚙️ 43mm Showa USD Fork

Upside-down front suspension provides 130mm of travel and a precise, controlled feel.

🛞 19/17-Inch Spoked Wheels

A larger front and compact rear wheel create the classic proportions of a road scrambler.

🏕️ Dual-Purpose Tyres

Block-pattern rubber adds confidence on loose surfaces without giving up road usability.

📏 184mm Ground Clearance

Useful clearance provides extra reassurance when the road becomes uneven.

🛑 Switchable Rear ABS

Dual-channel braking support can be disengaged at the back for loose-surface riding.

🪶 214kg Kerb Weight

A purposeful chassis balances substantial road presence with approachable control.

Sure-footed, confidence-inspiring and ready to keep going when the smooth road ends.

📱 Classic Shape. Clever Technology.

🗺️ Four-Inch Tripper Dash

The round colour TFT supports phone connectivity and full-map navigation powered by Google Maps.

💡 Full LED Lighting

Modern illumination is used across the headlamp, tail light and indicators.

🔌 USB-C Charging Port

Convenient on-bike power helps keep a compatible device charged during the journey.

🔊 Compact 2-1 Exhaust

A single black silencer creates a distinctive note and a clean right-side profile.

✨ Golden Shadow Style

Graphite, silver and black create a sophisticated finish, lifted by contrasting gold fork legs and subtle heritage detailing. The ribbed one-piece saddle, round LED headlamp and dark engine cases keep the whole design cohesive and purposeful.

  • Distinctive tank graphics
  • Blacked-out engine finish
  • Gold upside-down front forks
  • Flat scrambler-style bench seat
  • Protective engine bash plate
  • Practical passenger grab rail

⭐ Why You’ll Love It

This 2025 example has covered 2,114 miles, pairing low use with a versatile factory specification and one of the model’s most refined colour combinations.

  • Useful 13.7-litre fuel capacity
  • Smooth six-speed flexibility
  • Confident mixed-road suspension
  • Full LED lighting package
  • USB-C device charging
  • Characterful desert-racer design
